Please don’t judge us by our cover

Please don’t judge us by our cover

Growing up when and where I did, I heard things like this a lot. We heard it at home and we heard it at school, and hearing that mantra in my head helped me find a number of books that were really fantastic even though they had horrible covers. What does this have to do with our studio you ask?

Recently, we have had some new clients find us on Google and they scheduled appointments with one of our female therapists. When these new clients arrived, they remarked to the therapist that they almost decided not to come inside after they entered our parking lot because the building looks run down. I have had a few of my own clients mention the shabby state of the building as well.

Our studio is nestled in the business center located in Pearland, Texas. When we were looking for a space to build our own studio, expending out of the small two-room office we had been in for two years, we had to go somewhere that was pretty simple for our clients to find and that didn’t break our budget with rent and bills every month. We searched for so long. In the end, with time running out to vacate our rooms in the Crossfit gym, we had to settle for our current location. Below you will see a picture showing what the front of our space looked like when we found it.

The inside of this space looked even worse than the outside, but we saw potential in what we could make out of this place. We spent three months rebuilding the inside of this space to turn it into the studio we knew it could be. After finishing the inside, we had ADDI printing make some signage for our windows and my car. We were having a hard time with the sun beating in the windows in the mornings, so we added some solar shades to the inside of the glass. The pictures below will show you the facade of the studio in various lighting so any new people finding us online and reading this article can see what our exterior looks like before they arrive.

For those of you who do not know how commercial leasing goes, we have NO control over what the outside of the building looks like, other than what we are allowed to do with the glass signage. The building was purchased around two years ago by a new person, who brought in a new property management company to handle the day-to-day stuff. We have been promised that they were going to rip all of that nasty metal off the front and remodel this business center to look nicer like the Dollar Tree center across the street.

As of the writing of this post, we have been told that the plans were submitted to the city and they should start construction soon. This is the same exact thing they told us last June.

Why am I telling you this? I want you to know that we are concerned about the look of our facility, especially for new women showing up for their first appointment with us at night. We hope that you seeing the following pictures of what the studio looks like inside will help you feel safer and more comfortable about receiving services here, and will allow you to look past the shabby trappings of our current building. 🙂

Here are some pictures of the inside of the studio and the treatment rooms. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
